The Solar System
The Solar System is a group of celestial bodies. It is made up of the Sun (the centre) and the other bodies.
- Planets orbit the Sun.
- Satellites orbit planets. The Moon is the Earth's satellite.
- Comets orbit the Sun.
Eight planets orbit the Sun:
- The inner planets: the planets closest to the Sun. They are small, rocky planets. They are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars.
- The outer planets: the planets farthest away from the Sun. They are big planets made mostly of gases. They are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.
